Spring Cleaning

It’s that time of year again when we start to think about spring cleaning - going through our house looking at what we do and don’t want anymore, and what we do and don’t need anymore - to refresh and start anew just as nature is doing the same. Perhaps it's also time to clean out more than just clothes we no longer wear or books we no longer read - we may need to clean out some of our beliefs, behaviors and actions.

Some of these may look like:

  • “I don’t deserve to be happy.”

  • “Bad things always happen to me.”

  • “I don’t have enough _______ (money, time, ability, intelligence, etc.)”

  • “I’m always frantically running late.”

  • “I prefer to keep a full calendar and feel busy.”

What if we spring cleaned them to look like:

  • “I am fulfilled just the way I am.”

  • “Bad things happen to everybody - I'm no different.”

  • “I have enough and am enough.”

  • “I’m going to make more of an effort to be early or at least on time.”

  • “I will create space in my calendar to just be - I need it and deserve it.”

Happy spring cleaning…
