Looking Ahead to 2019
We've been seeing lots of goal and intention setting for the coming year, and well, we just can't seem to get into it. Previous versions of Sara and Colin were all over this sort of thing but we're in a season of life where we might just let things unfold organically. Anyone who knows us well who reads this, aka our parents, might be gasping a bit as we have always been on the planning side of things. The reality is if we didn't set goals and plans a few years ago, our life wouldn't look anything like it does today. In fact, a lot of goal setting and planning went into getting here. Hence why we think it might be time to surrender to what will be a bit more.
We did mention last week looking ahead to what we want our life to look like in 3 years and realized we would be happy if it was more of the same. Not to sound too sacchrine, but we feel pretty darn grateful for what our life looks like right now and it's far from an accident. We designed it this way with of course help, hard work, blah, blah.
Sara actually chose her own word as 'magic' for the coming year and yup, you guessed it, Colin didn't pick a word. Part of magic is the idea of surrendering a bit and trusting in the magic of life a bit more after so many years of striving and pushing. Relate on some level?
As we mentioned last week, we did choose 2 words for Physicians For Physicians and Colin was on board with that: intention (as in what's the intention) and mindful. We plan to work with these as sometimes it can be tempting to allow things to unfold too much and follow any path presented. If we remain intentional about our actions and mindful of why we're doing them, we hope that will help.
Goodbye 2018 and hello 2019.
